Berselang satu hari setelah pengurus LK-KBM 2013-2014 dilantik, Pelantikan Ketua Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) periode 2013-2014 pun ikut dilantik. Bertempat di Auditorium UK Petra dengan tema “Be Fruitful” serta logo yang berupa pohon berbuah banyak menjadi tema besar pada pelantikan ketua UKM periode ini. Acara yang dimulai pukul 18.00 WIB ini tidak berbeda jauh dari acara biasanya, yaitu diawali dengan kebaktian terlebih dahulu. Pembacaan Firman oleh Lukas sekaligus penyampaian tema kebaktian “Berbuah”, ingin menyadarkan kita pada kehidupan yang Tuhan inginkan dimana saat kita dapat tumbuh dan berkembang dengan baik dan dapat berguna bagi yang lain, layaknya pohon yang berbuah yang hanya terus mengembangkan dirinya demi kesenangan yang lain. “Bahwa yang Tuhan lihat dalam hidup kita bukanlah ke-eksis-an kita, melainkan apakah hidup kita telah berbuah dan dapat dinikmati oleh orang lain…” ucap pria yang telah mengabdikan dirinya di Gembala Gereja Mawar Sharon ini. Tema Be Fruitful juga mengharapkan agar setiap UKM mempunyai tanggung jawab untuk mengembangkan potensinya yang berguna bagi negara.
Kebaktian oleh Lukas
Sambutan dari Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan
Acara dilanjutkan dengan pembukaan oleh MC disertai nyanyian lagu Indonesia Raya dan Himne Petra. “Yang diharapkan ialah peningkatan kualitas kegiatan UKM agar prestasi UK Petra tetap dapat dipertahankan…” sepatah kata oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan, Ir. F. Jones Syaranamual, M.Eng dalam pelantikan tersebut cukup mengundang perhatian hadirin. Turut serta pula sambutan dari Ketua Bidang I, Jemmy Setiabudi yang mewakili Ketua BEM, “Harapan BEM tahun ini tidak lain ialah dapat bertumbuh dan berkembang bersama Tuhan, karena Dia-lah pokok kita… ” Adapula sambutan dari Harris Kristanto, selaku Ketua Acara Pelantikan tersebut. Konteks acara pun dibuat sedikit rileks dengan menghadirkan perform dari Melody n’ Friends serta atraksi dance dari UKM Tari.

Serah terima jabatan tiap UKM merupakan puncak acara dari pelantikan tersebut. Satu per satu wakil UKM yaitu ketua lama (periode 2012-2013) beserta ketua baru saling menandatangani surat pengesahan yang telah disediakan. Pelantikan kemudian ditutup dengan doa yang dipimpin oleh Harris Kristanto. Tidak berakhir disitu saja, disediakan pula photobooth untuk tiap UKM di luar auditorium. (Yen)
